Childcare

Recognizing that childcare is a great responsibility and after the positive experience in past congresses, LASA has hired childcare professionals and is pleased to subsidize this service for in-person participants and attendees. 

The service will be provided by Accent on Children's Arrangements, Inc. for the Congress days only, from Wednesday, May 24 through Saturday, May 27, 2023.

Fees

Childcare rates vary by age and number of hours. These amounts do not reflect the actual cost of the service, as they are partially subsidized by LASA. Each reservation has a non-refundable fee of $15 per child. All amounts are quoted in American dollars.

Remarks

• This service is exclusively for children of LASA members with an All Access subscription, which includes LASA2023 Congress registration, valid through May 28, 2023. If your All Access subscription expires on or before May 27, 2023, you must renew it in order to benefit from the Childcare service.
• Children must be between 6 months and 12 years of age.
• Meals are not included in childcare. It is the parent's responsibility to provide snacks and/or lunch for children.
• The daycare center will not provide or administer any type of medication to children.
• All children must be picked up by their parents without exception before 8:30 p.m.

LASA will subsidize the cost of childcare of LASA2023 accepted virtual participants who need this service for their children during the time of their active participation as organizer, chair, discussant, or paper presenter at the Congress.

How does virtual childcare work? 

Choose and contract the childcare center of your choice. Once you have paid for this service, submit the invoice to LASA for reimbursement.

Reimbursement will be provided at the rate of US $8.00 per hour for one child, and US $10.00 for two or more children, for a maximum of 10 hours. LASA’s maximum responsibility per family will be $80.00 for one child and $100 for two or more children. All prices are listed in US dollars.

A parent who bills LASA for childcare must be a 2023 All Access member of the Association with an active role in the LASA2023 Congress. Children must be between 6 months and 12 years of age.

How to request reimbursement for childcare services in the virtual modality?

To receive reimbursement, you will have until July 15, 2023, to send the original invoice for the service to the LASA Secretariat email lasa@lasaweb.org including the name(s) of the child(ren), and the dates and hours of the service.
