Childcare

The LASA2024 Congress will be hybrid: virtual, and on-site in Bogotá, Colombia, June 12–15, 2024. Aiming to support LASA members participating in this event, LASA is pleased to announce childcare services during the Congress for both on-site and virtual participants. 

Virtual Childcare

LASA will subsidize the cost of childcare of LASA2024 accepted virtual participants who need this service for their children during the time of their active participation as organizer, chair, discussant, or paper presenter at the Congress.

How does virtual childcare work? 

Choose and contract the childcare center of your choice. Once you have paid for this service, submit the invoice to LASA for reimbursement.

Reimbursement will be provided at the rate of US $8.00 per hour for one child, and US $10.00 for two or more children, for a maximum of 10 hours. LASA’s maximum responsibility per family will be $80.00 for one child and $100 for two or more children. All prices are listed in US dollars.

A parent who bills LASA for childcare must be a member of the Association in 2024 with an active role in the LASA2024 Congress. Children must be between 6 months and 12 years of age.

How to request reimbursement for childcare services in the virtual modality?

To receive reimbursement, you will have until July 15, 2024, to send the original invoice for the service to the LASA Secretariat email lasa@lasaweb.org including the name(s) of the child(ren), and the dates and hours of the service.

On-site Childcare

We are delighted to announce that the childcare service will be free of charge for all registered on-site participants and attendees of the LASA2024 Congress. We want to ensure that your experience at the event is as comfortable and convenient as possible. We hope this will give you the opportunity to enjoy the congress with peace of mind while your little ones are taken care of!

Childcare will be organized and coordinated by the “Jardín de Infancia León de Greiff Kindergarten”.

This service is exclusively for children of LASA members registered at the Congress.
Meals are not included in the service. It is the parent's responsibility to provide snacks and/or lunch for children.
The childcare center will not provide or administer any type of medication.
All children must be picked up by their parents without exception before 8:00 pm.
