A Milestone Celebration at LASA2026 in Paris

In 2026, the Latin American Studies Association (LASA) will celebrate its 60th anniversary during the LASA2026 Congress in Paris. This milestone offers an opportunity to reflect on six decades of scholarship, collaboration, and intellectual exchange among scholars dedicated to the study of Latin America and the Caribbean.

Since its founding in 1966, LASA has grown into the largest professional association in the world for individuals and institutions engaged in Latin American studies. Over the years, the Association has fostered vibrant academic networks, supported new generations of scholars, and created spaces for dialogue across countries, disciplines, and perspectives.

As we mark this important anniversary, LASA reaffirms its commitment to sustaining a strong international scholarly community and continuing to expand opportunities for research, exchange, and collaboration.

As part of the 60th anniversary celebration, LASA is also raising funds to strengthen and expand its programs. Members and supporters who wish to contribute may do so by donating to the fund of their choice, including initiatives such as travel grants, special projects, publications, and other programs that support the work of the Association.

Your support helps ensure that LASA can continue advancing scholarship and fostering connections within the global Latin American studies community for many years to come.
