Acerca del premio
En cada Congreso Internacional de LASA, la Asociación de Estudios Latinoamericanos concede el Bryce Wood Book Award, a un libro destacado sobre América Latina en el ámbito de las Ciencias Sociales y las Humanidades publicado en inglés.
Llamado a nominaciones
Para el Congreso Internacional de LASA2022, los libros que opten al premio deberán haber sido publicados entre el 1° de julio de 2020 y el 30 de junio de 2021. Si bien los libros no pueden participar más de una vez, se pueden considerar sus traducciones. Las antologías de selecciones de varios autores o las reediciones de obras publicadas previamente, no suelen optar al premio. Los libros son evaluados por su calidad de investigación, análisis y redacción, y por la importancia de su contribución a los estudios latinoamericanos. Los libros pueden ser nominados por los autores o autoras, la membresía de LASA o las editoriales.
Las personas que nominan libros son responsables de confirmar la fecha de publicación y de enviar el paquete de nominación incluyendo una copia del libro nominado (digital o impresa) directamente a cada miembro del Comité de Premiación y a la Secretaría de LASA, a cuenta y cargo de los autores y autoras o de las editoriales, la dirección completa, los números de teléfono y fax y la dirección de correo electrónico del nominado o nominada. Las nominaciones al Bryce Wood Book Award deben enviarse de forma electrónica. Complete el formulario de nominación antes del 20 septiembre de 2021. Para envíos internacionales, etiquete sus envíos como regalos, no como muestras.
Cada uno de los miembros del Comité de Premiación y a la Secretaría de LASA debe recibir todos los libros nominados antes del 20 de septiembre de 2021. Antes del 21 de enero de 2022, el Comité seleccionará el libro ganador. También puede designar una mención honorífica. El premio se anunciará en la Ceremonia de Bienvenida LASA2022 y la persona premiada será galardonada públicamente. Además, presentará su libro en un panel especial durante el Congreso. No es necesario ser miembro de LASA para recibir el premio.
