El periodista cubano José Jasán Nieves, editor jefe del medio digital independiente elTOQUE, fue galardonado la semana pasada por la Asociación de Estudios Latinoamericanos (LASA) con su premio anual, en reconocimiento al "rigor periodístico al reportar temas de considerable impacto social en Latinoamérica, basado en datos duros y análisis no-partisanos".
El jurado, integrado por Iria Puyosa, de Digital Research Lab-Atlantic Council; Luz Mely Reyes, de Efecto Cocuyo; Rosental Alves, de la Universidad de Texas; y Omar Rincón, de la Universidad de los Andes, señaló que "el trabjo de Nieves también muestra gran capacidad de innovación en técnicas de investigación periodística y diversos formatos multimedia para presentar contenidos a las audiencias".
