La Asociación de Estudios Latinoamericanos (LASA, por sus siglas en inglés), que reúne a investigadores y organismos dedicados al estudio de América Latina y que cuenta con más de trece mil socios, concedió el Premio Iberoamericano del Libro 2026 a Historia mínima del rock en América Latina(coedición de Prometeo y El Colegio de México, $ 30.900), de los investigadores argentinos Abel Gilbert y Pablo Alabarces. La obra -publicada en 2025- integra la colección Historias Mínimas que dirige Pablo Yankelevich.
Los miembros del comité de selección fueron Moisés Arce, de la Universidad de Tulane; Mark Healey, de la Universidad de Connecticut; David Parker, de la Universidad de Queen; Isabella Cosse, de la Universidad ded Buenos Aires, y Karina Ansolabehere, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. El premio se entrega desde 1992, y lo recibieron destacados pensadores e investigadores en ciencias sociales -muchos de ellos argentinos- como Antonio Cândido, Enrique Tandeter, María Dolores París Pombo, Martín Hopenhayn, Ezequiel Adamovsky, Vicente Palermo, Bethsabé Huamán Andía, Anke Birkenmaier, Alejandro Grimson y Víctor Goldgel.
