Los países de las Américas enfrentan un contexto global de tendencias políticas que se contraponen. Se trata de una dinámica de reacción y resistencia entre posiciones radicales y esfuerzos progresistas. Esta situación ha propiciado retrocesos democráticos, endurecimiento de regímenes autoritarios e ideologías que golpean las políticas públicas. Es por esto que la sociedad civil exige cambios para lograr condiciones más justas e inclusivas. Estos movimientos de resistencia y estas políticas progresistas contribuyen a imaginar nuevos futuros políticos, sociales y económicos.
