LASA2024: LASA-Ford Grant Call for Indigenous, Afro-descendant and LGBTQIA+ students

Students must be living in Colombia outside of Bogotá

From June 12 to 15, 2024, one of the most important academic events on the Latin American region, the annual congress of the Latin American Studies Association (LASA), will take place in Bogotá, Colombia. The theme of the LASA2024 Congress is "Reacción y resistencia: Imaginar futuros posibles en las Américas".

In an effort to encourage the participation in the Congress of Indigenous, Afro-descendant and/or LGBTQIA+ students residing in Colombia outside of Bogotá, LASA, in collaboration with the Ford Foundation, will award a total of thirty grants. Each grant will amount up to $500 USD and will cover the cost of Congress registration, shared accommodation for four nights during the Congress, as well as local transportation and food expenses.

* Students –Colombian or of any nationality– residing in any city in Colombia who have not previously been affiliated with LASA or attended LASA Congresses may attend the LASA2024 Congress in Bogotá for a one-time registration fee of US$25. The registration system will open on the LASA website on May 12, 2024.
